The Hannah's Heroes Foundation was established in September 2007 in memory of Hannah Dale Hatlen. Hannah lived in Tsawwassen, a suburb, just south of Vancouver, Canada.

Oct 18th 2005, started out like most other days. Her father Tore, left early for work at a job he had been at less then three months. Kathie, her mom, was going to take Hannah to her morning skating class and be back home for lunch. After the skating lesson she started to complain of headaches. Thinking this out of the ordinary, Kathie took Hannah to see our family doctor. He suggested taking her to BC Children's Hospital to 'rule out the bad stuff'.

By the time she arrived at Childrens, she was weak on her left side and had slurring speech. She was in a bad situation, it was like she had had a stroke.

Hannah was diagnosed with 2 brain tumors later that afternoon. One of then had had a bleed and that is what caused the stroke like symptoms. One tumor was in a relatively easy area to get at and was removed. The other is on the brain stem and is going to be considerably harder to deal with.

More to come....
